Kees Ravensbergen

Filmmaker and Nature Enthusiast

Kees Ravensbergen, a lifelong resident of the Veluwe, has spent decades capturing the essence of this unique region through his lens. Since the age of six, he has wandered the Veluwe’s forests, developing a deep connection with its landscapes and wildlife. Over the years, Kees amassed a vast collection of footage, documenting the area’s changing seasons and diverse fauna.

In 2024, filmmaker Marcel Everts discovered this treasure trove of footage and collaborated with Kees to produce the documentary De Achtertuin van Kees. The film offers an intimate portrayal of the Veluwe, showcasing its natural beauty and the wildlife that inhabits it. Through Kees’s eyes, viewers experience the region’s charm and tranquility, as if walking alongside him through his beloved ‘backyard’.

Kees’s work serves as a testament to the wonders of the Veluwe and the importance of preserving such natural sanctuaries.
